Four people have been killed, including the attacker, after a suicide bombing on Istanbul’s main shopping street, the city’s governor has said.
Vasip Sahin said 20 people were injured, three of them seriously, in the blast in Istiklal Street, which is lined with shops, cafes, restaurants and foreign consulates.
Israeli citizens are among the wounded, an Israeli Foreign Ministry spokesman said.
A witness told the Reuters news agency they saw police helicopters circling overhead, and television footage showed people running from the scene.
