Anbar Operations Command announced on Tuesday discovering a cache of weapons containing 430 improvised explosive devices, during a military operation to secure the liberated areas in Heet district, west of Ramadi.9
Commander of Anbar Operations, Major General Ismail al-Mahalawi, said in a press statement, “Security forces carried out an operation to search Hayy al-Bakr area on the banks of the Euphrates River in Heet district, discovering a cache of weapons containing 430 improvised explosive devices and large quantities of weapons and equipment.”
“Members of the ISIS terrorist gangs left weapons, IEDs, rockets and secret tunnels in the liberated areas of Anbar, and security forces are searching these areas in preparation for the return of displaced people,” Mahalawi added. “Forces from the army and police are searching for headquarters, hideouts and strongholds of the terrorist group, and removing their remnants,” Mahalawi explained.
