Iraqi security forces on Monday confiscated an Islamic State (IS) remote car bomb in the al-Khadhra neighborhood, eastern Mosul city.
The Iraqi army seized a remote-controlled vehicle attached with explosives that IS extremists planned to use in an attack against the security forces in the al-Khadhra neighborhood.
Brigadier-General Esmat, a Kurdish commander in the Iraqi Special Forces, told a Kurdistan24 reporter IS extremists had been using different tactics to stop the advancement of the Iraqi forces in Mosul.
He mentioned the remote-guided car bomb was one of several strategies the insurgents used.
“Nearly 20 kilograms of TNT can be attached to the remote-guided car,” the Commander said.
